MOLE REMOVAL IN MORPETH

Careful assessment. Precise removal.

Moles are common skin growths that can vary in size, shape and colour. While most are harmless, any mole or pigmented lesion should be assessed appropriately before removal.

At SG Aesthetics, mole removal begins with a consultation to assess the area and establish whether treatment is suitable. Where required, you will be asked to obtain an assessment from your GP before removal can be considered.

Assessment comes first

Not every mole is suitable for cosmetic removal in the clinic. If there is any concern about the appearance or nature of a mole, it is important that this is medically assessed before treatment.

Where a doctor considers that a mole needs to be surgically removed and sent for histological examination, this would need to be carried out through an appropriate medical or surgical pathway rather than by cosmetic removal at SG Aesthetics.

Written confirmation may be required before treatment can proceed.

Plasma mole removal

Where a mole or pigmented skin lesion has been assessed as suitable for removal, Dermo Plasma may be used to carefully treat the area.

The plasma device delivers controlled energy to the surface of the skin, creating a precise thermal effect that removes the targeted tissue. The treated area is left flush with the surrounding skin and normally forms a small dark or red area as it heals.

A local anaesthetic can be injected before treatment to numb the area, helping to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. The treatment itself is usually very quick.

After your treatment

Following removal, the treated area will usually appear red or dark and may develop a small scab as it heals. Healing typically takes around a week, although this can vary depending on the size and location of the lesion.

Detailed pre- and post-treatment instructions will be provided, together with appropriate follow-up.

A careful clinical approach

With her background as a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber, Sarah takes a cautious approach to the removal of moles and other skin lesions.

The priority is always to establish that treatment is appropriate before proceeding. Where surgical removal or histological assessment is more appropriate, patients will be advised to follow the appropriate medical referral pathway.

Supporting your results at home

At SG Aesthetics, we believe that good skin health extends beyond in-clinic treatments. A personalised homecare routine using Obagi Medical® skincare may be recommended alongside your treatment to support your results and help maintain healthy-looking skin over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Every mole or pigmented lesion needs to be assessed before removal to establish whether treatment is appropriate. If there is any concern about a lesion, medical assessment may be required before cosmetic removal can be considered.

This depends on the lesion and the clinic’s assessment and protocol. Where medical assessment is required, you may be asked to obtain written confirmation from your GP before treatment can proceed.

A successfully removed lesion should not return, although new moles can develop elsewhere. If you notice any new or changing mole, it is important to have it medically assessed.
